This year everyone over 50 years old and those with long term conditions such as diabetes will be offered a flu vaccine. The vaccine will also be offered to children and pregnant women.
Children who are two or three on 31st August 2024 will be invited to have their flu vaccine at a Nexus GP practice. All other children will be vaccinated at their school.
We will be giving flu vaccines from 3rd October to eligible groups only. Anyone not eligible that wishes to have a flu jab should book a private vaccine at a pharmacy.
If you receive a text or letter to say you are eligible for a vaccine then you can book using the booking the link in the text or you can call your registered surgery and choose option 0 to book an appointment.
The flu vaccine is safe and effective and cannot give you flu, it will prevent serious illness caused by flu. For information on the NHS flu campaign please see here.
